Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!
At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver our Stop Smoking Service across the City of London and Hackney (Smokefree City and Hackney!), and we’re looking for a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor (Mental Health) to join the team!
Our programmes are designed to support individuals to improve their health behaviours and make sustainable changes to their lifestyle. Residents across the City of London and Hackney will be able to benefit from a variety of our established stop smoking pathways, including Gloji Smokefree (our online programme), as well as face-to-face support.
The aim of this role is to ensure that stop smoking support is easily accessible to clients living with mental health conditions, who can often be under-represented in health provision. You will be providing face-to-face stop smoking support for these individuals – alongside our online offering – and as such we are looking for someone who has experience working in a mental health support related role.
Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.
A typical day as a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor (Mental Health) might include:
- Delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on smoking cessation, behaviour change, and psychological support to individuals who are living with a diagnosed mental health condition
- Running stop smoking clinics across the area, working with clients on both a one-to-one and group basis
- Working with partner organisations and colleagues in Primary Care to help improve client uptake and meet targets
- Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients, in alignment with our policies and procedures
- Referring on to external support services where appropriate, such as additional mental wellbeing support
- Engaging in training relevant to your role, such as NCSCT Stop Smoking training and Behaviour Change Level 1 and 2
- Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!
- Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance
- Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!
About you...
More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart in to their work. We’ve got some core values that run through everything we do, and we’d love it if they resonate with you too!

Be happy
You recognise the power of a smile. You value a fun, supportive workplace and want to come to work raring to go (check out our rating on Glassdoor).
Be successful
You are motivated and driven. Happy working solo or as part of a team, you love meeting targets. And will be given opportunities to contribute and develop your career.
Be big-hearted
You want to make a difference. Working with a like-minded team of optimistic people, we want the same thing to do meaningful work and change lives.
To work with us in the role, you will need to have some experience of working with people in a mental health and/or behaviour change setting and have a real understanding of the impact personal characteristics can have on health behaviours. We’re especially keen to hear from individuals who have already completed their NCSCT Stop Smoking Advisor training.
We hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience so if you feel you are right for the job we would love to hear from you!
