Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!
At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver our Integrated Health and Wellbeing Service (IHWS) throughout the City of Nottingham, and we’re looking for a group of Weight Management Practitioners to join the team!
Our IHWS programme is designed to support individuals and families to improve their health behaviours and make sustainable changes to their lifestyle. The programme consists of five key services;
- Stop smoking support
- Tailored physical activity programmes
- Adult weight management (this is where you come in!)
- Child/family weight management
- Health Coaching
Residents across the City of Nottingham will be able to benefit from a variety of our established pathways and products, including Gloji Groups and Gloji Move More. Gloji Groups is a 12 week weight loss programme, allowing our clients to benefit from group support and encouragement each week, covering topics such as making and breaking habits, nutrition, sleep and getting active!
Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.
A typical day as a Weight Management Practitioner might include:
- Delivering evidence-based interventions covering nutrition, movement, mind, sleep and alcohol, with a focus on behaviour change and psychological support
- Motivating, inspiring and supporting individuals to lose weight and adopt a healthier lifestyle, through a professional, knowledgeable and empathetic approach
- Implementing aspects of an individual’s health improvement plan including SMART goal setting, taking into account their risk factors, individual lifestyles and motivations
- Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients, aligning with our internal policies and procedures
- Supporting referral generation activities to promote the service including outreach and primary/secondary care liaison
- Accurately recording and monitoring data, including client progression
- Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!
- Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance
- Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!
About you…
More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart in to their work. We’ve got some core values that run through everything we do, and we’d love it if they resonate with you too!
Be the change
You like helping people. You’ll be working with those who need help the most, empowering them to make positive changes to thrive.
Be effective
You’re patient and can adapt under pressure. Always happy to make time for other people, and have a great attitude.
Be happy
You recognise the power of a smile. You value a fun, supportive workplace and want to come to work raring to go (check out our rating on Glassdoor).
Be successful
You are motivated and driven. Happy working solo or as part of a team, you love meeting targets and will be given opportunities to contribute and develop your career.
Be big-hearted
You want to make a difference. Working with a like-minded team of optimistic people, you want to engage in meaningful work and change lives.
To work with us in this role you will need to have some experience of supporting individuals to make healthy lifestyle choices, preferably in group settings, through nutrition, physical activity or health coaching. You will feel confident managing a caseload and have knowledge of behaviour change techniques. A relevant qualification (such as health coaching or fitness instructing) would be a bonus!
Although not essential, so that we can best support the needs of our clients in Nottingham we are particularly keen to hear from applicants who are fluent in Polish, Urdu, Arabic and/or Romanian.
However, we hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience so if you feel you are right for the job we would love to hear from you!
