Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!
At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver our newly awarded Smoking Cessation support service across Hampshire, and we’re looking for a Community Stop Smoking Advisor to deliver the programme from our outreach vehicle to join us!
Our programme is designed to support residents of Hampshire access the support they need to stop smoking. This can be done through a number of approaches and will include the supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) being sent to them. Combining these, with digital, remote or face-to face appointments with Stop Smoking Advisors to support them to ensure their quit attempt is successful.
This role will primarily focus on the delivery of one-to-one, high quality, effective 12-week smoking cessation programmes, from our outreach van. You will be accountable for the day to day operations of the outreach vehicle (including driving and storage management), ensuring we continuously maximise the potential of this innovative approach to smoking cessation. With support from the local leadership team, you will ensure the outreach vehicle is strategically positioned in high priority areas of the county, to provide the service to those with the greatest need. You will be a visible presence, promoting the service to priority groups and communities, whilst ensuring the vehicle enhances accessibility into the service. For people supported to quit smoking via the use of a vape quit aid, where the risk of relapse is deemed low, a vape cessation service is also to be offered (and delivered).
Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.
A typical day as a Community Stop Smoking Advisor (Outreach Vehicle) might include:
- Delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on smoking cessation, behaviour change, and psychological support to save lives by helping smokers to quit for good.
- Delivering face-to-face stop smoking clinics from the outreach vehicle, working with clients on a one-to-one basis, in person, to support them with their quit attempt.
- Targeted delivery of the service to priority groups, and across priority areas.
- Supporting people to stop using vape/e-cigarette products
- Working with partner organisations and colleagues in across the county to help improve service uptake and meet targets.
- Appropriate maintenance of the outreach vehicle, ensuring it always presents itself as a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for our service users to receive support from. This includes co-ordinating MOTs, servicing, insurance renewal, vehicle tax etc…
- Responsible for safe storage of the outreach vehicle
- Driving the outreach vehicle, across Hampshire, in line with service priorities
- Utilising the outreach vehicle, alongside the Engagement and Partnerships team, to promote the service
- Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients using our policies and procedures
- Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!
- Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance.
- Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!
