Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!
At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! One You Surrey is an integrated healthy lifestyle service that delivers free stop smoking support and adult weight management programmes to people in Surrey. It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin expanding our Smoking Cessation support service across Surrey, and we’re looking for a Community Outreach and Inclusion Officer to join us!
Our programme is designed to support residents of Surrey access the support they need to stop smoking. This can be done through a number of approaches and will include the supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) being sent to them. Combining these, with digital, remote or face-to face appointments with Stop Smoking Advisors to support them to ensure their quit attempt is successful.
As a Community Outreach and Inclusion Officer, you will be required to develop strong community-based relationships across Surrey promoting the programme and supporting the generation of referrals into the stop smoking service. You’ll be required to cultivate effective partnerships to support our co-production aims of developing a smoking cessation programme that highlights then delivers what is required by key population groups and demographic areas.
Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.
A typical day as a Community Outreach and Inclusion Officer might include:
- Liaising with external organisations to build effective partnerships and promotion of the One You Surrey programme, specifically within voluntary and community services.
- Attending outreach events and leading on engagement activities to increase service visibility and participation, including attending networking events and delivering presentations across Surrey.
- Taking a strategic and targeted approach to community engagement and partnership development, aligned with the service’s focus on key priority groups and populations.
- Supporting the implementation of the marketing and communications strategy, under the strategic direction of the Marketing and Partnerships Lead, to ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
- Delivering "Very Brief Advice" (VBA) training to key stakeholders across the community and voluntary sector to generate referrals into the service.
- Working in partnership with Thrive Tribe’s centralised marketing team on marketing and communications plans, such as promotional campaigns
- Establishing and nurturing strong referral pathways with a broad range of partners, including voluntary organisations, local businesses, workplaces, and community groups - particularly those serving priority populations.
- Promoting our smoking cessation offer to key target groups, including people from minoritised ethnic backgrounds, routine and manual workers, and individuals from areas of deprivation, in line with our KPIs.
- Maintaining an up-to-date record of service stakeholders and assisting with the dissemination of communications with partner organisations
- Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!
- Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance
- Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!
