Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!
At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! We’re looking for a Health Psychologist / Mental Health Lead to join our team – specifically supporting our Thriving Nottingham and One You East Sussex service, in addition to developing services across the whole company.
Our programmes are designed to support individuals and families to improve their health behaviours and make sustainable changes to their lifestyle. Our programmes consist of several key services, including:
· Stop smoking support
· Health Coaching
· Weight management support
· Health Checks
· Physical activity
Our team of motivated practitioners work directly with individuals to support them to achieve their health goals. This is achieved through successfully delivering our quality pathways and products, including Gloji Lose Weight and Gloji Smokefree. As the Health Psychologist, your role will be to support and upskill our practitioners, enabling them to empower those living with mental health conditions to make long term changes to their lifestyle and improve health-related outcomes (including moving more, eating better and stopping smoking).
Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.
A typical day in this role might include:
Working with colleagues across our Thrive Tribe services to provide specialist mental health and behaviour change expertise contributing to the design, development and continuous improvement of our services, products and resources.
Keeping abreast of the most recent evidence base and reviewing our products and services to ensure we’re providing our clients with cutting-edge health and wellbeing support.
Providing best practice guidance and clinically informed support to our practitioners whilst they are supporting clients living with mental health conditions, or where mental wellbeing needs are contributing to the client’s unhealthy habits.
Ensuring that support for mental wellbeing is embedded within the context of all behaviour change interventions, including developing tools and resources that Practitioners can make available to their clients.
Working in partnership with Thrive Tribe’s centralised Clinical and Quality Team to ensure effective safeguarding and escalation procedures are in place in relation to mental health.
Developing guidance and communication templates for communications with other healthcare professionals who are supporting the same client (eg GPs, mental health nurses), including recommendation of medication reviews (eg after a successful quit attempt).
Establish effective working relationships with external partners (such as mental health services, charities and crisis teams) to establish robust onward referral pathways and ensure safe coordinated care.
Provide support for Thrive Tribe staff which includes leading Emotional and Mental Wellbeing groups, practitioner peer reflection, staff training, and supervision frameworks.
Champion inclusive and culturally responsive approaches to emotional wellbeing, reducing barriers faced by marginalised or high-risk groups.
Review outcome data to understand the effectiveness of our programmes as well as leading on any research opportunities across Thrive Tribe.
Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!
Ensuring due consideration is given to our Safeguarding, Information Governance and Clinical Governance policies and procedures. To ensure safer recruitment and safeguarding for all we adopt pre-employment processes, including DBS checks.
Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!
