Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!
At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver our Stop Smoking Service across the City of London and Hackney (Smokefree City and Hackney), and we’re looking for a Community Engagement Lead to join the team!
Our programmes are designed to support individuals to improve their health behaviours and make sustainable changes to their lifestyle. Residents across the City of London and Hackney will be able to benefit from a variety of our established stop smoking pathways, including our online offering (Gloji Smokefree) as well as face-to-face support.
Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.
A typical day as a Strategic Marketing and Community Development Manager might include:
Marketing and Communications
• Lead the development and delivery of strategic marketing plans to increase awareness and uptake of stop smoking services across City and Hackney.
• Manage multi-channel communications, including social media, digital marketing, print materials, events, and stakeholder communications activities.
• Oversee the creation of culturally appropriate and accessible health promotion materials aligned with public health objectives.
• Support the promotion and reputation of Gloji Smokefree services across Hackney and the City of London.
• Manage marketing budgets, external suppliers, and campaign timelines effectively to ensure value for money and successful delivery.
• Working in partnership with Thrive Tribe’s centralised Marketing Team to build local marketing and communications plans and develop promotional campaigns and resources.
• Stay informed on emerging public health trends, smoking cessation research, and marketing best practices to drive innovation within the service.
• Ensure all communications and engagement activities comply with GDPR, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion standards.
• Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance.
Outreach, Community Development and Engagement
• Representing Gloji at smoking cessation related internal and external meetings.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, NHS services, community organisations, GP practices, pharmacies, and voluntary sector partners.
• Lead community outreach initiatives, workshops, and engagement events to strengthen local relationships and increase service visibility.
• Develop targeted campaigns to engage diverse communities, priority populations, and underserved groups in smoking cessation support.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to engagement staff, ambassadors, or volunteers involved in outreach and campaign delivery.
• Work collaboratively with operational teams to align engagement activity with service delivery goals and national tobacco control priorities.
• Use data, insights, and service performance metrics to evaluate engagement effectiveness and inform future engagement strategies.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for senior leadership, commissioners, and stakeholders on engagement outcomes and impact.
• Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments.
• Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values.
